With Lucas Oils recent addition of UTVs to their Off Road Racing Series, we will be changing our focus from desert racing, to short course racing. We will be primarily racing the Lucas Oil races, but may also hit up some other local races. Please check the Race Schedule on the right for dates we will be in your area. The next souther California race will be in December, with the Lucas Oil Challange Cup at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex. If you havent experienced short course off road racing yet, you need to attend this race. Big prize purses will be bringing alot of east coast veterans, and the racing will be fierce as they try and steal the cash from the west coast relative young guns.If you make it out, please stop by the 50fifty Racing pit and say Hi!

The race car for the 2009 season consists
of a specially preped 2006 Yamaha Rhino 660 Side x Side.
Thanks to Yamaha for building such a tough platform
to start from, and thanks to Tim Berendes for all the
fab and prep work to make it race ready! SDR Motorsports
supplied the LT6 long travel suspension setup, which has already been proven on the track.
Tim from SDR Motorsports did a
great job bending and welding the 1 1/2" chromoly
tubing supplied by Superior Pipe and Supply, into a
great looking cage. Every part of the stock Rhino frame
was inspected, an
d any areas that needed beefing up
was gusseted, or replaced with chromoly tubing. We originally designed the car as a dual sport, meaning it would feel just as home in the desert, as it would on the short course tracks. With our recent change of focus to just short course, we as actively redesigning a few areas, to make the car handle and jump better, while reducing weight. We are also building a new motor, based on the single cylinder Yamaha 660 motor, specifically for short course racing. We hope that Yamaha will release a v-twin (two cylinder) motor in their 2010 Rhino, so that we will be able to build a higher HP motor package, to complete with the twin cylinder Kawasaki and Polaris cars.
